Can I place in Earthworms in my tumbling compost bin?

And expect a better result? The compost bin is a specialty tumbling one that isn't working as well as proclaimed albeit following all the rules and seeing steam escape in the middle of a snowy winter. Just wondering if adding worms would move it along faster and would those worms actually prosper from all the 'food'?
