Do frogs stay attached to their deceased mates?

I have a pond in my back yard, and frogs are no strangers to that area, they live, reproduce, and flourish back their. But recently I have found something that seems very unusual, a clearly dead floating frog (in the pond) and what seems to be a male frog attached, nearly hugging it. which leads to my question, is this regular behavior or is it some sign of grievance or is he just using her as a floatation device?
