"Basically", it's so annoying!?

We are taught from an early age in school that "padding" and "stuffing" are a vital part of English (the subject, not the language). Without stuffing, essays would be almost impossible. So being taught to get into the habit of using stuffing has caused us to use it in everyday life to extend our responses.
