My daughter will be 9 on 12/27 and I wonder about an ipod touch for her.?

She has an ipod shuffle which she has taken care of for the last year. I want to get her the ipod touch for a combo birthday & Christmas present. She would NOT take it to school nor take it anywhere but in the car on the way to see family. I believe she would take care of it. She is very computer literate. Anyone else getting their 9 year old and ipod touch?
