Am I supposed to have this many issues with getting my wisdom teeth removed?

About 10 days ago I had all 4 wisdom removed by an oral surgeon. My face didn't swell, but there was still alot of pain. Sucky side effects from both the pain killer and the antibiotic. I still have stitches in my mouth that should have dissolved by now, and now my gums feel as though they have fluid in them so my mouth is producing an unusual amount of spit. I used the ice pack first couple of days and the warm compress since, I gargle, drink warm fluids, and rinse foods when I finish eating, which wasn't even until the 8th day. I'm 28, but shouldn't I have healed by now?
